The A16 Transjurane motorway connects the French border to Biel/Bienne over 84 km through the cantons of Jura and Bern. To ensure maximum tunnel safety and system availability, EASY SA and Bonnard & Gardel implemented a state-of-the-art solution based on zenon from COPA-DATA.

The system integrates 8 B&R X20 systems with local HMI (zenon V6.51 CE) and 24 Beckhoff CX controllers connected via a redundant fiber network. Direct drivers for Beckhoff, B&R, and OPC UA ensure seamless communication between all devices.

zenon acts as the main visualization and control system, providing alarm lists, chronological event tracking, trend curves, and recipe management. Animated vector symbols display tunnel traffic, ventilation, CO₂ levels, lighting, and fire detection in real time.

The zenon Web Server enables secure remote operation through web browsers, with precise access control for multiple users. The system runs on Windows CE, XP, and Windows 7, offering long-term stability and flexibility.
