The Landquart fuel terminal (TAL) of Landi Graubünden AG processes around one million litres of fuel daily. Delivered by block trains with up to 20 tank wagons, the fuel is stored and distributed via tanker trucks. Operational safety is paramount.
The control system is based on a SIMATIC S7-317PN PLC monitored by the zenon process control system from COPA-DATA. Communication uses COPA-DATA’s S7-TCP direct driver. The ET200M I/O system connects via ProfiNet on a redundant fiber ring, managed by switches and routers with firewalls.
zenon redundancy ensures continuous operation. Alarms are handled through zenon Message Control with text-to-speech notification, providing real-time updates. Historical data is stored on the zenon Archive Server and analyzed with the Extended Trend and Report Generator. The system runs on Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit).
The result: full control, maximum reliability, and efficient daily fuel handling operations.
