For nearly 150 years, AMB Bellinzona has provided power, water, and communication services to Bellinzona and surrounding municipalities. To meet modern requirements, AMB modernized its 50 kV/16 kV distribution network with zenon from COPA-DATA.
Implemented by COSTRONIC SA and supported by SATOMEC AG, the project delivers a centralized, redundant SCADA system with long-term data integrity and real-time monitoring for 24/7 operation.
The system includes:
- 7 Schneider Modicon M340 controllers via Modbus
- 120 Schneider protection relays via IEC 61850
- Native drivers for IEC 60870, IEC 61850 and Open Modbus
- Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8.1 platforms
- SQL integration for long-term archiving
- Global network view with automatic line coloring
zenon consolidates previously distributed systems into a single control platform. Multi-server and multi-client redundancy ensures high availability and legal compliance with ten-year archiving requirements. Operators benefit from intuitive overviews and detailed real-time visualization.
