More information
The EISK8-GT unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch from Contemporary Controls offers Gigabit speed on all 8 ports - even for IP cameras or current network clients with the highest data rate requirements. Furthermore, it supports "jumbo packets" with a size of 9216 bytes for higher performance. It is also suitable for standard 10/100Mbps network devices - the data rate always adapts variably to the needs of the client. The switch is very robust with its metal housing and therefore especially suitable for mounting in control cabinets on top-hat rails.
The switch can be used simply plug-and-play without configuration, as the connections all configure themselves completely by themselves when a client is connected. The auto-negotiation function negotiates data between clients and the switch and communicates via duplex operation. Depending on the client, each port can set itself to 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps in half or full duplex mode. Auto-MDIX simplifies cabling - crossover or patch cables can simply be used.
Either a DC or AC extra-low voltage can be used for power supply. A redundant power supply can also be used to protect against switch failures. The LEDs make it easy to locate problems.
The compact Scorpion unmanaged Ethernet switch is specially adapted for mounting in control cabinets and can easily be hooked into existing top-hat rails. Here it only requires a width of 41mm. The top-hat rail clip is also made of robust metal and can withstand the harshest conditions.
The power supply of the switch works either via a 10-36VDC or a 24VAC (± 10) connection. The half-way rectifier circuit for extra-low voltages allows multiple units to be powered from one 24VAC/VDC power source. The redundancy of the power supply makes it easy to implement backup scenarios.
The diagnostic LEDs make it easy to read off the data rates or the mains load on the unit. Each individual port can provide information here - a good help when looking for communication problems.
