On 1 September 2026, SATOMEC AG hosted Automation Brunch at the Mövenpick Hotel Egerkingen. Under the theme "Trends in Energy and Infrastructure", the event focused on current developments, practical automation solutions and professional exchange.

Current Trends and Solutions with zenon

The technical programme opened with presentations by Stefan Hufnagl, Sebastian Lhotka and Verena Glück from COPA-DATA. Key topics included the modernisation and digitalisation of energy grids, renewable energy and the requirements for stable and secure grid operation.

The programme also covered practical applications of the zenon Software Platform. These included solutions for substations, photovoltaic installations, battery energy storage systems and centralised monitoring of gas supply, district heating and charging stations. New features in zenon V16 and the software platform's development roadmap were also discussed.

Practical Examples from Our System Integrators

Our system integrators COSTRONIC SA, power2energy Engineering AG, ControlTech Engineering AG and EL-TECH Engineering AG demonstrated how automation solutions can be implemented in real-world projects. Their reference projects complemented the technology presentations with valuable perspectives from practical implementation.

Cybersecurity and Secure Remote Access

Industrial cybersecurity was another key topic. Lars Gotlieb from SECOMEA addressed compliance requirements, NIS2 and secure remote access to OT systems. The presentation focused on practical approaches to scalable and secure OT remote access.

Knowledge Sharing and Personal Exchange

The final Q&A session, followed by a networking lunch, provided opportunities to explore technical topics in more detail, share experiences and strengthen professional connections.

We would like to thank all speakers, partners and attendees for their contributions to Automation Brunch 2026.
